Welcome to the Human Mobility Research Centre

At HMRC our focus is helping people live fuller, more mobile lives by pioneering the development of innovative and effective treatment strategies for bone and joint disorders caused by arthritis, osteoporosis, injury, and related problems.

The Centre is a partnership between Queens University and Kingston General Hospital (KGH) and serves as a point of collaboration between the disciplines of medicine, engineering, health sciences, and information technology.

HMRC provides shared research space and services for clinicians, orthopaedic surgeons, university faculty, students, and industry. We are located in KGH and have specialized labs for connective tissue, bio-simulation, tissue processing, prosthesis design, software development, and gait analysis, as well as one of the worlds first computer-enhanced surgical suites.
